Do people judge you because you have warts, moles, and/or skin tags? Yes!

Unfortunately this is so and to a large extent.

It is easy to belittle the importance of physical appearance because what is on the inside counts so much more. And this is true!

However unfortunately, society often judges us by our appearance. That first impression is so important and comes into play in social engagements and also in business.

Your warts, your moles or your skin tags may be important determinants of how much attractive you are, especially if they are on your face.

There is what it is called the ‘Halo Effect’.

There is a social study conducted by Dr. Mona Phillips of Spellman College that describes the halo effect. In a nutshell the theory states that it is those people who are perceived as more attractive that are associated with good personal qualities.

The opposite is also true under this theory and it is called the ‘Horns Effect’.

The horns effect states that people who are perceived as less attractive are more associated with poor personal qualities and are therefore seen in a less favorable way than more attractive individuals.

Unfortunately both the ‘halo effect’ and the ‘horns effect’ may be the determinant factors (sometimes the most important) to succeed in an interview or otherwise.

In an interview, as you enter the room and you are perceived as attractive, the interviewers will start unconsciously to think favorably about you. As the interview progresses, they may start to search for good qualities so to confirm their initial favorable assumptions.

This may mean that you may score better in an interview than you deserve.

If you are not so attractive the opposite may happen.

Unfortunately in this case, as you enter the room and you are perceived as unattractive, the interviewers will unconsciously start to think in an unfavorable way about you. As the interview progresses, they may start to search for poor qualities in you so to confirm their initial bad assumptions.

This may mean that you score lower in the interview than you deserve.

Of course professional interviewers are aware of both the halo effect and the horns effect and they try to neutralize them by trying to be neutral as far as they can, but the tendency is still there.

The halo effect and the horns effect make people judge us in a somehow distorted manner unconsciously.

The more you are good looking the more favorable you are looked at, and the more you are bad-looking the more you are looked in an unfavorable way.

Of course this applies also in our everyday lives.

Therefore your warts, your moles or your skin tags may affect the way people look at you. Clearing your warts, your moles or skin tags is imperative because it will give you more self confidence and will affect the way people think of you.

Nevertheless, never forget that what is inside is more important and our friends will also judge as by it too.
